"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."

Olivia turns 12!!!!!!!

My daughter is 12.

I seriously cannot believe it.

Where did those 12 years just go?

I will never forget her birth day.

She was born at 3:33 in the morning.

And I have never seen so much hair on a child. Black hair. Everywhere.
Her head was just thick with it.
And it was all over her back and her ears.
I was so scared that I had just birthed a sasquatch.

"Will all this hair go away?" I asked the nurses.

Yes, they assured me it would.

And it did.
 Thank God.

So we celebrated that little black haired girl on Saturday, her birth day.
We had a friend over.
We had family over.
We all went bowling!
What a blast!

Here are some pics from the day.

Daddy and I got her a nail care system. She loves!

Everyone enjoying a little bowling!

Go Liv!

Cousins Frank, Henry and Chloe enjoying some snacks.

The Yount kids, and Emmitt :)

Mabel patiently waiting for her ball to hit some pins. I thought this was just precious.

Olivia and her friends, Audrey, Bethany, Madelyn and Katelyn.

I'm 12!!!

 Sweet Peyton enjoying cake!

Uncle Drew is always tormenting the children.

Zachary, Chloe and their gift to Olivia. Thanks guys!

Olivia's new dress from Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Steve! She loves it!

A new coat from Aunt Sue and fam - super cute!

Part of her present from us was getting her ears pierced, a second hole this time! She doesn't remember getting her first ones done b/c I did it when she was 6 months old :) She was nervous, but did so good! Cousin Madelyn was there for support and for a hand to squeeze.

So cute honey!

We sure love you, and are so proud of the godly young woman you are becoming!  Muah!

My Husband Rocks

So, since before Thanksgiving, I have been dying for this ring.

Have you ever heard of The Vintage Pearl?
I absolutely LOVE her products.

I want everything!!

But I especially wanted this ring.

It's called the CHUNKY SPINNER RING.

I've always wanted a Mothers ring, and this was just my style.

So I kept dropping hints to my hubby.

For Christmas......?
For my birthday in January......?
For a Just Because.......?
No, No and No.

Sooooo, I kind of gave up hope.

So yesterday, Valentines Day, I got home from work.....was doing my typical Tuesday afternoon laundry duty....folding clothes in my bedroom.

I had the door closed.

I heard a knock on the door and said, come in!

My 2 precious sons walk in, each with a rose in their hand.
Eric is standing behind them with 2 roses in his hand. (One from him, and one for Olivia, who was at ski club until late :)

Cameron says : "Happy Thanksgiving Mom".

I melted.

I also got the sweetest card from Eric.

I love mushy cards.

Then he handed me a gift bag and told me to open it.

This is what I found in it.

So I have to admit, it took me quite a while to figure this out.

I kept looking at him like, "What are you giving me a fish hook for? " and "What the world is another word for fat?!"

So I started with the post it note.

Hmmm, another word for fat?

Yes, chunky. That's it.

The fish hook, I found out, was actually a spinner bait. I didn't know that, so my fisherman husband helped me out w/ that one.

So, so far I have
chunky and spinner.

Well, the last clue is obviously a ring. Duh.

So put those 3 together and what do you get?

Eric said that I will be getting my ring soon,
and it's a Valentines Day/Mothers Day gift combined.

I couldn't be happier!
I'm SO excited.

I think the world of my husband, and how creative is he to think of this?!
I'm so very blessed.

Yeah. My husband rocks.

Tonight at the supper table, Emmitt was first to pray. He thanked God for our new (to us) couch and "chair."

After his prayer was done, Cameron was quick to correct Emmitt that it was not a "chair," but rather a "loveseat."

Emmitt looked at him curiously, and said, "So we love it?"

The Adventures of Jack

Emmitt: "Mom, can I wear my coat backwards, please?"

Mommy: "Sure Emmitt, but your hood will be right in front of your face."

Emmitt: "That's ok."

He proceeds to wear his coat backwards while we travel from one place to another......

As we prepare to leave said place.....

Emmitt: "Mom, can I wear my coat backwards again, please?"

Mommy: "No, not this time Emmitt. We don't wear our coats like that."

Emmitt: "Well....Jack wears it like that all the time."

Half Price Today!

Emmitt was totally naughty in the grocery store this morning.

Oh my goodness. This boy, I tell you what.  Sometimes.........grrrrrr!

Just the typical loud, whiney, asking for everything he can lay eyes on, crying because I say no, etc......

I'm serious, I could have put a price sticker on him and left him right in the store.

Half Price Today!

No. Not really. But you fellow Moms know how I feel, eh?

We got in the car to drive home and I think I had the longest lecture in my life.

Do not ever do that to me again.

You are being punished big time when we get home!

Why do you have to act that way Emmitt?!?!

Oh so frustrating.

So I am tucking him in for his nap just now, and he says,

"Mom, I'm sorry for being naughty at the store."

I say, "It's ok Emmitt, I forgive you. But don't do it ever again."

He says, "Ok Mom. I forgive you too."

Oh this boy.

My flesh and my heart may fail,

but God is the strength of my heart

and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:26
This is one of my most favorite verses of all time.
I get goosebumps all over, every time I read it.
Yes, I fail Him.
But My Lord, My God, is my strength and my portion. Forever and Ever. Amen.

Easter 2011

Easter 2011 was a good day.

I do love Easter, very much. It's a wonderful holiday to celebrate our Risen Lord.

A tradition we follow every year is coloring eggs with the kids. They love it, and so do Sue and I :)

Another tradition I always do with my kids is hiding their Easter baskets, and they get to search for them before church Easter morning.

We always take pictures after church in our Easter attire :)

July 4th....six months later

I am so behind in my blogging, it's embarrasing.

But I still want to get these pictures up here.

We had an excellent Independence Day. It was sunny, hot and gorgeous!

Every year we go to the parade in the morning, have a family reunion at noon, then a program and fireworks in the evening. It's a super fun day!!

Cam, Lucas and Chloe posing for me at the parade :)

Mabel, Elijah, and Emmitt, also posing for me at the parade :)

My sweet sister Tawnya and I. I love this girl to pieces. She is wearing her precious babe Peyton :)

My other sweet sister Melissa. She's an awesome friend.

My other sister Juli. She is one amazing sister-in-law! We kinda matched that day!

Lucas, Cam and Em waiting patiently for candy :)

My dad's quartet GloryBound. They are awesome, awesome, awesome. All their songs give me goosebumps. Or Jesus pimples as my Dad calls them :) My Dad is second from the left (or the smallest of the bunch :).

Jamie, Cam and Lucas being silly.....waiting for the fireworks to start!

My cousin Steph and her hubby Erik were bombarded with a bunch of girls! These are Olivia's friends and cousins, Ellie, Madelyn, Desiree and Kaya.  I love this picture!
After the fireworks, we always go back to my parents house for our own fireworks and sparklers! The kids love it!
