Emmitt turns 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, our baby turned one last Saturday. Fun was
had by all. We celebrated with our whole family Saturday
evening after all the hunters were in from the woods.
Eric and I said after they left....we are so blessed to have
such a caring family. We thank God for the gift of Emmitt - he has brought so much joy int oour life.

Here's some pictures!

Daddy and Emmitt opening some gifts...

This was earlier in the day....
I was making a coconut cake (from scratch!)
and the little stinker pulled the bag of coconut
off the table......oops!

Eric helped me make the frosting....you had
to beat it for over 8 minutes! Thanks darling....
you're gonna love this picture all over the web :)

The finished product....I must say - it was a

delicious cake!

Emmitt was very timid with his plate of cake
at first, but it didn't last long :)

This is the cake I made for him. It's supposed to be
a bath tub. The middle was filled with jello jigglers to make
it look like water. I thought it turned out cute!

Emmitt wearing Grandpa's hat ^_^

Here's Aunty Sue, Baby Myra, Grandma Ellie,
Elijah, Grandma Kathy and Emmitt

And Aunty Juli who came all the way from Grand
Haven just for the party. Thank you!! We love
you!

People need more than bread.

The following is taken from Olivia's devotional book that we do every night. After we read this one it just struck me how simple it really is....I wanted to share it.

Matthew 4:3&4 - Then the Devil came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, change these stones into loaves of bread." But Jesus told him, "No! The Scriptures say, 'People need more than bread for their life; they must feed on every word of God.' "

-Two things we cannot live without are food and water. Even Jesus got hungry. But He knew that people needed two kinds of food. There is food for the body and food for the soul. Everyone knows about the food for our body. Jesus came to teach us about the other food. In fact, it was one of the first things He talked about. "People need more than bread for their life," Jesus said. "They must feed on every word of God."

One day Jesus was out in the countryside. Thousands of people came there to see and hear Him. When it came time to eat, no one had any food. With five loaves of bread and two fish, Jesus fed them all. The same people crowded around Jesus the next day. He told them, "You only came here because I fed you yesterday. But God gives you the true bread from heaven."

"Please, give us this bread," they begged.

Jesus answered them, "I am the bread of life. Come to me and you will never be hungry."

No one can go without food. No one should go without knowing that Jesus is the real food.

How fast a year goes by....

I'm feeling a little emotional tonight.....

One year ago on this night I was preparing to go to the hospital early the next morning to deliver our 3rd child. So many emotions we felt that night, and so many I'm feeling tonight. It's very hard to believe how fast a year goes by. My baby is now walking, saying "Uh Oh", "All Da" (done), and of course...Da Da. No Ma Ma yet...surely that will come. He's just growing up....

way too fast.

I have to say, I am glad the sleepless nights are over, but part of me just wants to slow this growing process down....for all 3 of my kids. Brings tears to my eyes - how much my heart is truly filled to the brim with love for them. I am excited for what the future may bring for us and our kids, but for right now - I try to cherish every day with them - because they will soon be over and we'll be celebrating another year.

Tomorrow my baby turns one. One year old. It seriously seems like yesterday that we brought him home. I could actually say that about all my kids. It was over 8 years ago that we brought our first one home. They are so so special.

Jesus - thank you for such a gift.

A truly perfect gift......my cup overflows.

cut! So sad for Mommy :(

....During

I just had to laugh at Emmitt during his haircut....
he had the funniest facial expressions :) For the
most part he did really good, (especially when he
had the sucker!) but he really did not like it when she
cut around his ears.....

...look at that scowl :)

....too funny!

...."Here Mom, do you want my hairy
sucker!!??" :D

And after.....

....he looks so much older now :(

Welcome to the world little Myra!

My dear twin sister delivered her 4th daughter
on Monday. She is absolutely beautiful. Her name
is Myra Jill. She weighed 8# 1 oz. and was 21 in. long.
They are doing wonderful. We just give all the praise
to God for this sweet gift of life.
