Broken glass and loving gestures.....

I had a busy day yesterday. I worked from 8-4, got home and put potatoes in the oven for a birthday party at my mom's, took the sitter home, got back home around 4:30, and was packing up everything to head to my mom's, and then on to our church softball game at 7:00....busy, busy, busy....

So I had to be at my mom's at 5:00 for supper, and we were right on schedule. I was in my bedroom w/ Olivia and Emmitt and we heard a terrible, terrible crash. We both looked at eachother like, "holy moly, what was that??!"

We came out of my bedroom to find Cameron surrounded by thousands of tiny pieces of glass.

I had made a pan of bars yesterday, and Cam decided he wanted one. He was carrying the whole glass 9x13 to my room so mommy could cut him a bar. Apparently the cover came off and the bars came crashing to the floor.

Oh my, what a mess.

If you have ceramic tile in your home, you know what I'm talking about. If you ever drop something glass on it, it's history.

Obviously, we were late getting to my mom's for the party....it takes a long time to clean something like that up.

No time to take pictures of it w/ 3 little kids running around. The only thing you can think of at that moment is to get the glass off the floor.

Poor Camer felt so bad :(

My mother-in-law happened to call right in the middle of me cleaning it all up. She talked to Olivia and Olivia told her what had happened. When we got home from our ball game, there was a 9x13 pan on my counter w/ a note that said, "Here's a pan for you - I had an extra." What a sweet gesture! I just love her!

Knowing how much I like to bake and need 9x13's, that was just awesome to come home too!

So yeah, quite the afternoon! But all ended well - no cuts or minor injuries! And we won our ball game!!
