"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."

3rd Grade Christmas Party

I had the opportunity to be "Room Mom" for Olivia's Christmas party this year at school. We had a blast.

Here's the 3rd grade class and Teacher,
Mrs. Buning

Olivia got a Ty Dog for her gift.

We played a fun game for our gift exchange....
each balloon had a girls name in it. They had
to toss balloons around while Christmas music
played, and when it stopped, the balloon they
grabbed was then popped and whoever's name was
in it was the gift they got. They had fun!

Snack time....red and green finger jello!

The class got Mrs. Buning a sweatshirt
with all the kids' names on it...she loved it.

We made a candy-cane ornament.

I was in charge of snack....this is what
we made (actually Daddy helped Olivia make
these!).
It's very simple and so tasty!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!!

The past few days we have just gotten dumped on.....and I mean dumped on. We've had 2 days off of school now b/c of bad road conditions and just so much snow.

It's soo soo beautiful outside though - I just marvel at God's handiwork. I don't especially like driving in it, but it sure is beautiful.

This is looking out our back door - see all the snow on our grills!

A winter wonderland!

Aidan came over to play today.....we bundled up the kiddos and they had fun playing outside.....oh, for all of 10 minutes or so :) At least I got a few pictures before they HAD to come in and have hot chocolate :]

Olivia posing :]

Here's Emmitt back in early Nov. taking his
first steps!! YAY!!!!

Oh Cameron.....this kid just kills me.....

here he is having toast w/ sprinkles (Daddy's
favorite) and paging through a Penney's Toy
Catalog. He was picking some things out
for Christmas. Doesn't he just look all grown-up?? LOL

He's our little ham-ball :)

Does this look familiar??? Yeah, a few weeks ago
on his birthday he dumped a bag of coconut all
over the floor. Well, last week, he figured out how to
get the cereal cupboard open and had fun dumping
a bag all over the floor again.....what a pistol.

"Wha.....what?? I'm not naughty."

I gave Eric a new bow for his birthday (he turned
34 on Thanksgiving day!) and Christmas combined.
I know, I know....what was I thinking??? Now I'll really
never see him :) No - he absolutely loves it....here's his first
doe he shot with it. He was so giddy that night- it was hilarious.

O Christmas Tree...........

One of our most favorite family traditions is
getting all bundled up and going to a tree farm
to cut down the perfect Christmas tree!

We got to do this last Friday. It was a beautiful snowy
day - the kids had so much fun. Emmitt was quite
humorous....he looked like a little papoose. He couldn't
move very well in all his winter gear - as you'll be able
to tell in some of the pictures.

What a great memory to make with our family. I'm
so thankful for memories like that with my family when
I was growing up, and that I'm able to keep that tradition going.

On our way.....

Searching for the perfect tree.....

We found it!!

Emmitt couldn't sit or stand - face plant
here....too funny!

Helping Dad (or watching mostly) cut it down.

Draggin it out.....

Now it's time to decorate.......
Keeping Emmitt away from the tree
and all the pretty ornaments is a
chore!!!
Every time Cameron would get an ornament,
he would go back to the exact same spot on the tree
and hang it there. It was too cute.

He's so proud!

I love this season!!

Emmitt turns 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, our baby turned one last Saturday. Fun was
had by all. We celebrated with our whole family Saturday
evening after all the hunters were in from the woods.
Eric and I said after they left....we are so blessed to have
such a caring family. We thank God for the gift of Emmitt - he has brought so much joy int oour life.

Here's some pictures!

Daddy and Emmitt opening some gifts...

This was earlier in the day....
I was making a coconut cake (from scratch!)
and the little stinker pulled the bag of coconut
off the table......oops!

Eric helped me make the frosting....you had
to beat it for over 8 minutes! Thanks darling....
you're gonna love this picture all over the web :)

The finished product....I must say - it was a

delicious cake!

Emmitt was very timid with his plate of cake
at first, but it didn't last long :)

This is the cake I made for him. It's supposed to be
a bath tub. The middle was filled with jello jigglers to make
it look like water. I thought it turned out cute!

Emmitt wearing Grandpa's hat ^_^

Here's Aunty Sue, Baby Myra, Grandma Ellie,
Elijah, Grandma Kathy and Emmitt

And Aunty Juli who came all the way from Grand
Haven just for the party. Thank you!! We love
you!
