"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."

~Emmitt's Baptism~

Yesterday was a very special day for our
family. Emmitt was baptized into the
family of God. What a privledge this is!
It was such a special service and one we'll
remember forever. Here's some pictures
from the day.

Emmitt in his little baptism outfit :}

He got his cries out before the
baptism - big boy!!

The whole fam... Cam did really good
up there! I was a little worried??

Pastor Van was wonderful! We were so glad
he got to baptism Emmitt.

Big sister sang a solo and did such
a super job. Mommy couldn't stop
crying! We were so proud of her.

My dad and Eric's sister Juli sang "I
want to be just like you" and sounded
beautiful together! That song is so
perfect and I bawled through that one
too! How special!

Here we are afterward at our little
celebration! Thank you Jesus for
the gift of Emmitt, and especially for
the gift of your son!

~Christmas! What fun!

We had a lot of fun opening gifts with
our family this year. We always do it on
the 24th in the morning. Cam was cute
to watch this year - he really got into it. Olivia
had been asking for 2 weeks when she could open
presents, so she was glad the day was finally here!

New pj's!

And a new sleeping bag!!

This was what Olivia wanted most for Christmas-
WebKinz!! She got 2 of them, and is having a
ball with them!

And little Em just slept the whole time~

Cam got pistols from us, and they
pretty much haven't been out of his
sight since!!
DRAW!
These are too cool Mom!
Eric got carharts and boots from me
and the kids.
And I got a special Willow Tree~
"New Life" is what it's called. I LOVED
it! Will go great with my collection.

~Our Little Singer~

We were so proud of Olivia Sunday night
at our annual Sunday School Program.
She had a special solo to sing, and she
did so wonderful!! Here's a few pics
of her singing. Great job honey!!

~My husband, the hunter~

Will Eric ever stop shooting things? :}
Last Sunday morning was quite eventful for
us. We got a major thaw, then a major wind
storm and snow and everything froze. It was
so windy, our trampoline got thrown against our house
and caused some damage, and wrecked the tramp!
The bang was so loud, we thought a tree had fallen on
our house! Then Eric spotted 2 coyotes behind our house, and
off he went! He ended up getting one, and was totally
stoked! This is what he loves to do!! He loves living
out in the country. All this happened before church!
So anyway, if you've never seen a coyote before,
here's your chance!!

Friends~

These are some of my greatest friends
in the whole world! We had our little
Christmas party the other night - what fun!
We always eat really good when we get
together - and of course, share lots of
good laughs! :} I am so thankful for each
of them!

The Legend of the Candy Cane

Cousin Madelyn was over visiting today, and her and Olivia were talking about what to put in Pastor Van's famous "black bag" for church tomorrow. I said we should do something Christmassy, like a candy cane, and Madelyn piped right up and said, "Yeah, like the legend of the candy cane!" So that's what's going in the bag for tomorrow, and it made me think of this story. Such a great reminder of Christ's gift to us!

The Legend of the Candy Cane
According to legend there was a candy maker who wanted to invent a candy that was a witness to Christ.
First of all, he used a hard candy because Christ is the rock of ages. This hard candy was shaped so that it would resemble a “J” for Jesus or, turned upside down, a shepherd’s staff. He made it white to represent the purity of Christ.
Finally a red stripe was added to represent the blood Christ shed for the sins of the world, and three thinner red stripes for the stripes He received on our behalf when the Roman soldiers whipped Him. Sometimes a green stripe is added as a reminder that Jesus is a gift from God.
The flavor of the cane is peppermint, which is similar to hyssop. Hyssop is in the mint family and was used in the Old Testament for purification and sacrifice. Jesus is the pure Lamb of God, come to be a sacrifice for the sins of the world.
So, every time you see a candy cane, remember the message of the candy maker: Jesus is the Christ!

Bath Time

As you can see in these pictures, Emmitt loves his baths. He calms right down in that warm water and sometimes he even sleeps, it's so precious. Eric snapped a few pictures last night of his bath. We thought they were so cute and had to share them.

Emmitt's Grandma's

Grandma Kathy was a huge help when
Emmitt came home!

Grandma Ellie hand made this blanket
wrapped around Emmitt! How special!

A new member! Baby Emmitt arrives~

Waiting patiently for surgery....

He's so sexy in his scrubs!!!

Just born! Taking baby Emmitt's temp.

We're so happy he's here and healthy!

Wow, a family of 5! God is so good!
Emmitt was born on Nov. 15, opening day of deer hunting. Eric was pretty excited to have a son on this day. He didn't get out hunting much though! Oh well, there's always next year. Emmitt will have fun celebrating his birthday on this holiday every year!
